Trips & Car Handovers

Trips and vehicle handovers are the core activities in the Majestic Transport system, representing the primary work done by drivers and managed by dispatchers.

Trips

A Trip is a scheduled transport service for a specific guest or client.

Trip Lifecycle

  1. Creation: A dispatcher creates a trip in the Admin Panel, specifying the guest, route, and scheduled time.
  2. Assignment: The dispatcher assigns a specific car and driver to the trip.
  3. Execution: The assigned driver sees the trip in their mobile app and executes it at the scheduled time.
  4. Completion: Once the transport is finished, the trip is marked as completed.

Key Information

  • Guest Details: Name, contact information, and special requirements.
  • Route: Starting point, destination, and any planned stops.
  • Schedule: Pickup date and time, and expected drop-off time.
  • Assigned Resources: The specific car and driver assigned to the trip.

Car Handovers

A Car Handover is the formal process of transferring responsibility for a vehicle between drivers or between a driver and the organization.

The Handover Process

  1. Initiation: A driver starts a handover process in the mobile app when they begin or end their shift.
  2. Snapshot Capture: The driver captures photos (snapshots) of the vehicle's current condition from various angles.
  3. Condition Reporting: The driver reports any existing damage, fuel levels, or other relevant information.
  4. Digital Signature: The handover is formalized through a digital signature or confirmation in the app.

Benefits

  • Accountability: Clearly tracks who was responsible for a vehicle at any given time.
  • Damage Tracking: Provides a verifiable record of vehicle condition, making it easy to identify when new damage occurred.
  • Maintenance Planning: Helps identify vehicles that require maintenance based on driver reports.
